What BeachSignal is

BeachSignal helps travelers understand changing beach conditions before they choose where to go. Its first module, Sargassum Check, is a free map and seasonal planner for beaches in Quintana Roo, Mexico. It gives each beach a rough sargassum estimate with an honest confidence level, the age of its sources and cleaner nearby alternatives.

Estimates are not live observations, calibrated forecasts or swimming-safety advice. A regional forecast or satellite view is never presented as a confirmed beach condition. The method is explained in How it works.

How it is funded
